Ana Leyun says that feeling good, both inside and out, doesn't start with a restrictive diet , intense workouts, detox programs, or an army of supplements.
This A holistic health coach specializing in the digestive system, she traveled to New York to train. She herself acknowledges that the profession "isn't as common" in Spain as it is in the United States . "I met her while living in Australia; in those countries, people rely more on natural medicine . A holistic coach guides you, supports you, and gives you tips and recommendations so you can get to the root of your problems," she tells El Confidencial.
Thus, she explains that for her, symptoms "are a signal from the body" : "It tells you that something is out of balance. It can be reversed through lifestyle." She also comments that the key is to "guide the person": "In many situations, it's good to go to the doctor, but it's important to understand yourself and know what's causing those symptoms."
Do you reject the word coach ?When asked if there's a rejection of coaching in Spain, he answers yes. "I'd say the reason is that there are so many coaches for all sorts of things these days. The other day I was walking down the street and saw one for hair . It's spread to so many areas and maybe it's lost some of its meaning," he confesses.
To this argument, he adds another: "Nowadays, we want everything done yesterday , and when you work with a coach , that's not possible. The minimum process takes three to six months. It's not a pill or a shot."

Regarding whether its use will spread in Spain, he says that when he started, about four years ago, he felt like it was "a voice crying in the wilderness." "People thought it was really strange; they didn't understand anything . Now more and more people ask me for advice because they've tried everything , including conventional methods, and they're tired of relying on pills and still not feeling well. That's why they're open to trying other options ," he adds.
He also notes that he sees a “common pattern” in Spain that he doesn’t see in other countries : “Because we have public healthcare, people aren’t used to paying for their healthcare. So, that’s the point I find most reticent . I think the thought is, ‘Why would I pay if I go to social security and they give me a pill?’”
Regarding whether there are any recurring ailments , he says that digestive problems are: “It's a common problem, but it's not unusual because between processed foods, lack of sleep, and stress at work, it's almost impossible not to have them.”
For this reason, she offers a program called anti-burnout , or in other words, aimed at exhaustion resulting from work performance . "It's aimed primarily at women in the corporate world who suffer from a lot of stress . The goal is to guide them toward better self-management ; the first step is taking full responsibility for yourself. Decide that you want to feel good and take action," she acknowledges.

Her clients are between 25 and 45 years old, and she observes that they have “greater awareness and proactivity” : “The older they are, the more they feel that this is what it is and that’s it, and they don’t even consider complaining or thinking that feeling unwell is not normal .”
She also treats men, but explains that "there is little information about women, and it's not entirely clear." "I want to help them understand how their cycle, hormones, and brain work, and that nothing is wrong with them ," she describes.
Another service she offers is a cortisol detox . “In 28 days, we cover the four main areas I always focus on: sleep, nutrition, movement, and mindset . During that time, change begins, but a new habit isn't achieved in less than three to six months through brain processes,” she explains.
